Applicant for Asylum Status

Submit the following required documents if you currently have an I-589 application for asylum status pending with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). View application deadlines.

If you have Applicant for Asylum status, you will not qualify for Texas resident/in-state tuition rates until you have been approved for asylum. You will be charged the out-of-state/international non-resident tuition rate, unless you qualify for residency status (Texas Senate Bill 1528).
