F-1 Immigration Check-in Sessions
Check-in sessions are hosted by a DSO (Designated School Official) to prepare F-1 students with maintaining the terms and conditions of the F-1 nonimmigrant status. New F-1 students are only required to attend one immigration check-in session. A registration hold will remain an F-1 student’s account until the completion of immigration check-in.
What to expect:
- Learn about how to maintain the F-1 student status.
- Complete enrollment steps and clear Registration Holds.
- Submit Immigration documents to ISO (bring your Passport, Visa, printed Most recent electronic I-94, Signed Form I-20, and printed I-901 SEVIS fee receipt)
- General tips on being a successful international student.
- Student are encouraged to bring their laptop or tablet.
- Meet fellow F-1 students and make new friends.

International Student Orientation Resource Fair
The International Student Orientation Resource Fair provides international students with valuable information to ease transition to ACC. What students can expect:
- Meet the International Student Office staff.
- General tips on being a successful college student.
- Discover campus departments and community resources through a Resource Fair.
- Connect with fellow students and make new friends.
Dates:
- Spring 2026 – Friday, January 16, 2026 at 10am
- Fall 2026 – To be announced.

F-1 Students
Both the Immigration Check-in and the International Student Orientation Resource Fair are mandatory for F-1 students enrolling at ACC for the first time. This applies to new F-1 transfer students and students who recently changed their immigration status to F-1. F-1 student will receive an email from ISO with more information.
Non F-1 Students (other visa statuses)
Non F-1 international students do not have an immigration check-in requirement. Non F-1 students are not required, but are welcome to attend the Orientation Resource Fair. Students with other immigration or visa statuses are encouraged to complete the general ACC New Riverbat Orientation to learn all about being a college student at ACC.
F-1 Student Resources:

- Complete the Orientation Survey at the end of the presentation
- F-1 International Student Welcome Guide
- Update physical address and phone number
- Submit changes within 10 days of moving or changing your phone number.
