New Student Steps to Enroll
Getting started is easy at Austin Community College. We have an open admissions policy, and there are no application fees (except for international applicants). It takes just a few steps to enroll. Once you complete these steps, you’re eligible to take credit classes at any of our 11 campuses or online. Applications are accepted year-round. Applying early ensures you’ll be ready when it’s time to register for classes.
Step 1: Prepare
Have a program in mind? If so, great! If not, explore your interests within ACC’s Areas of Study or take a Career Quiz to see what programs are a fit for you.
Areas of Study – Schedule an information session focusing on ACC’s Areas of Study, core curriculum and workforce options, associate and bachelor degrees, as well as transfer opportunities.
Step 2: Apply
Set up your application account and fill out the online application to begin.
Choose the application that works for you and you will be contacted by phone or email about any additional documents you’ll need to submit.

Next Steps For Traditional Degree-Seeking Applicants
Submit any required documents such as college/university transcripts, SAT, ACT, and/or TSI scores. If you need help submitting your documentation, please contact the Admissions and Enrollment Office.
Most students and families are eligible for some type of financial aid – from grants, scholarships, loans, or work-study. Learn how you can access the funds you need on our Paying for College webpage.
You’ll need your ACCeID to do most tasks at ACC, including logging into MyACC, Blackboard, and other online resources. Retrieve your ACCeID.
ACCmail is the official form of communication at ACC. Your ACCmail account allows you to conduct official ACC business and receive important information about your ACC accounts and classes. ACCmail Activation & Login Assistance.
Step 3: Attend Orientation, Register, and Pay
After you have been admitted to ACC, you can review a quick, helpful orientation module.
This online orientation module covers important student tools, tips for success, and the benefits of being a Riverbat – like campus resources, free tutoring, community connection, student organizations, and more!

To register for classes as a new Riverbat, students who have:
- Fewer than 12 credits: You must sign up for group advising to plan and register for first semester classes. Sign-up for an online or in-person group advising session.
- More than 12 credits: You are ready to register! View registration steps or contact our online advising team for assistance.

ACC’s academic calendar has 16-week semesters in the fall and spring and an 11-week semester in summer. Shorter sessions are also offered within each semester to provide students a variety of course lengths and start times. Don’t wait to complete the admission steps! Applying early ensures you’ll be ready when key registration dates arrive.
