Texas State University is a top transfer destination for ACC students, and now it’s even easier with the Bats to Cats seamless transfer program. Here’s how to transfer from ACC to Texas State in five easy steps while saving money and earning your bachelor’s degree on time.

Step 1. Apply to ACC

You’ll want to start at ACC! ACC Riverbats know that there are plenty of benefits to taking your freshman and sophomore classes at ACC. Students save money on tuition and fees. Recent high school grads in Central Texas may be eligible for the Free Tuition pilot program, saving even more on college costs.

ACC’s application process is straightforward. Applying is free, and open admissions means that once you’ve completed all the steps, you can start taking classes. You can apply year-round, and you can register for classes whenever the next registration period opens.

Texas State Transfers Work for Everyone!

Step 2. Explore Bats to Cats Programs

ACC Riverbats who want to become Texas State Bobcats can choose from a number of different associate degrees that transfer seamlessly to Texas State. From business to computer science to English and more, students who want to get a versatile bachelor’s degree can save money by taking their first two years of classes at ACC.

In the Bats to Cats program, all of those credits transfer directly to Texas State. There’s no credit loss, no application fee, and you even get a first-year scholarship.

Step 3. Meet with Your ACC and Texas State Advisors

This is where your Texas State plans start. Once you’ve chosen your program of study, applied for financial aid, attended an info session and new student orientation, and met with your area of study advisor, you’re ready to register for classes.

  • Tell your ACC advisor that you’re planning to transfer to Texas State.
  • Reach out to the ACC Transfer Services office for individual help.
  • Review the Bats to Cats program to see if one of these majors meets your goals.

If these programs don’t match your career goals, don’t worry! You can choose another major with the understanding that you’ll apply to Texas State as a traditional transfer student.

Step 4.  Complete the Bats to Cats Declaration Form

The Bats to Cats Declaration Form sets the process in motion. Once you have filled out the form, you’ll follow the degree plan set out in your major’s program map. As a Bats to Cats student, you’re eligible for additional student aid through Texas State when you transfer – up to $2,000 if you choose to attend the Texas State Round Rock campus.  

Step 5. Focus on Your Classes

Congratulations! You’ve got your program mapped out. You don’t have to worry about what class credits transfer and what don’t. You don’t have to fill out additional applications or pay application fees.
