Immigration regulations require all F-1 students to report when they are completing their program, as their I-20 must be updated accordingly. Additionally, if the student is in the final semester and needs less than 12 credit hours to graduate, the student may be permitted to be enrolled in less than 12 credit hours for the final semester due to graduation. This information must be reported through SEVIS (Student Exchange Visitor Information System). ACC F-1 visa students who plan to graduate, must submit the F-1 Student Graduation Eligibility form.
Submit the following documents to the International Student Office to report your graduation status. Do this before classes begin in the last semester before you graduate:
- F-1 Student Graduation Eligibility form (must be completed with an Area of Study advisor)
- Degree audit reflecting classes needed to graduate (created by an Area of Study advisor)
F-1 Student Graduation Eligibility documents may be submitted to the International Student Office at [email protected]. However, the office may request that you submit them in person.
Documents must be clean, clear, and legible. The International Student Office reviews requests and notifies students by email upon completion. Allow five business days for processing updated I-20.
